2 Cakes were posted earlier today. I've added an extra collar in the box to hold the cake down and protect the decoration in transit. Fingers crossed they arrive in perfect shape.
If results are positive I'll be offering 1st Call Post for £6.00 to UK addresses.

I have found a local (Oxfordshire/Warwickshire) Baker who can make some hand made Quality cakes for us.
We'll be offering you a Quality Madeira Cake product, topped with the Thick, Quality, Belgian Chocolate that you crave and the Original Marzipan Fruits... The production run will be limited this year, and we can only release a limited batch each week in the run up to Christmas. Please make contact ASAP to register your interest and avoid disappointment. More details on availability, pricing, ordering and pictures to be released soon. Please be sure to follow our news on Instagram too! I'm putting together a Survey Monkey questionnaire to send out to everyone who's registered through the contact form on the home page, so watch out for it in your email inbox soon.
I need some help from you to capture your thoughts and preferences. From what I've done so far, I think that to get a good product (like we remember) the costs are prohibitive, hence I need to find out what is really important to you. I might even tempt you all to reply with a free draw for a Tunis Cake... So with December almost upon us it's the time when our thoughts turn to Tunis Cake, reflecting back on the good old days of McVities.
It's been a while since creating this site and last posting, so an update is long overdue. There have been a small number of Tunis Cake fans left a message on the contact page, so thank you, it all helps me build a business case of support in bringing a replica cake to market. Please continue to register on this site and on the Facebook pages for Tunis Cake. Regarding my progress; It's slow, but I've been in contact with the original manufacturer of the Marzipan fruits as mentioned before. I've been testing Chocolate, and have now settled on a blend of some good Belgium Chocolate that I think comes close to the original for flavour and texture. My Madeira recipe is ready, but now requires a Baker to do what they need to make it into a mass produced item. The only thing left for me to perfect is the piped Icing, especially the texture. This I hope to do soon. So what next? The search for a Baker continues.... and then some crowd funding from all you fans to make this happen :) Happy Christmas Exciting day today. Just received my sample Marzipan Fruits, to complement the gold frill and red ribbon that arrived the other day.
I can now get on with my product photography. |
